Hiker lost in Rocky Mountains for 1 week

Helicopters flew over the Rocky Mountains Thursday as authorities plan for a “concentrated ground search,” for a climber that has been absent for more than seven days, the Public Park Administration said.

Chad Pallansch, 49, of Stronghold Collins, Colorado, was keep going heard from on September 27, when an instant message prosecuted he was nearly to the highest point of Mount Alice in Rough Mountain Public Park, the organization said.

His arrangements were to climb a 28-mile course, which included laid out trails as well as off-trail travel, the Recreation area Administration said. He was announced late on Sept. 28.

He is 5 feet, 7 inches tall and around 155 pounds, with earthy colored hair and blue eyes, and is fit, as indicated by the office. He’s a sprinter with both long distance race and trail running experience, it said.

Climate that incorporates snow, ice and wind have hampered ground endeavors, yet helicopters flew Thursday in anticipation of a “concentrated ground search exertion,” the Recreation area Administration said.

Landing zones were being recognized for groups to be arrived in the field beginning Friday, it said.

There have proactively been search groups on the ground with canines, and searches via air with heat detecting gear, as per the organization. Awful climate Wednesday at higher rises hampered search endeavors, it said.
